Steward PET Imaging provides positron emission tomography (PET) combined with computerized tomography (CT) imaging services. This non-invasive, state of the art diagnostic tool is used to pinpoint the source of cancer, heart and neurological diseases, as well as other health care issues.
What is a PET/CT?
- PET (positron emission tomography) looks at how the cells in your body process a radioactive tracer that you have injected while the CT portion assist in providing detailed images.
- The radioactive tracer can detect biochemical abnormalities at the cellular level.
- PET/CT can assist your physician in diagnosis, determine the need for treatment if needed, assist with treatment planning and monitor the response to treatment.
- PET/CT is useful for the assessment of Coronary Artery Disease and differentiating Alzheimer disease from other forms of dementia

Steward PET imaging allows for you to stay close to home, receiving your scans at familiar facilities. Your doctors get results quickly so you can get treatment sooner if needed. Hospital radiologists are available to consult with your doctors if needed.
